To keep your cap looking fresh, regular care is essential.
From quick touch-ups with a lint roller to a thorough cleaning in the dishwasher or washing machine, this will help it stay in top shape and maintain its original structure. Here’s how to gently clean and care for your cap depending on your needs.
Daily Care

If your cap needs a fresh look, it's easy to give it one! Take a lint roller to remove dust or small fuzz. Then, gently wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth to remove any dirt residue. Be careful not to rub too hard to avoid damaging the fabric. Cleaning the cap by hand is especially gentle. For tougher stains, you can use shampoo, but make sure to test it on a discreet spot first. This way, your cap will be clean and look as good as new in no time.
In the Dishwasher

Remove all stickers and securely place the cap in a cap washer or on an upside-down bowl for added stability. Wash the cap alone, without any dishes or utensils, to avoid cross-contamination. Use the gentlest cycle on your dishwasher. The gentle cycle usually runs at 40°C, while eco-programs are around 50°C. Be cautious with quick programs as they may involve higher temperatures. If your cap doesn’t have heavy stains, a wash without detergent tabs should suffice. If you still prefer to use tabs or powder, make sure they are bleach-free to prevent color fading. The dishwasher will clean the cap thoroughly but more gently, as it doesn’t agitate as strongly as the washing machine.
In the Washing Machine

For machine washing, we recommend using a cap washer to protect your cap and prevent it from losing its shape. Remove all stickers beforehand and wash the cap at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Avoid using fabric softener and be sure not to put the cap in the dryer.
Here are a few side facts for you
How do I dry my cap?
Always dry your cap naturally! Avoid using the dryer or spin cycle, as they tend to be too hot and can damage the shape of the cap. The best method is to let your cap air dry. Stuff it with a towel to help it maintain its shape. Alternatively, you can insert an inflated balloon inside, place it over a suitable bowl, or even put it on top of another cap. Be sure not to place the cap directly in the sun to avoid fading. It dries best when fresh, cooler air flows through it, and warm ambient air helps with evaporation. The ideal time for this is in the morning or evening—just place the cap by an open window!
What helps with sweat and hair gel stains?
Sweat stains and hair gel marks can quickly appear, especially in the summer. Don't worry—getting rid of them is easy! Simply rub a bit of hair shampoo mixed with water onto the affected areas and let it sit for a short time. A toothbrush can help gently scrub the stains. Then, rinse everything off with lukewarm water. If the stains are stubborn, try using vinegar. Test it on a discreet spot first, then apply it to the stains and let it sit for one to two hours. Afterward, wash the cap as usual, either by hand or in the machine, depending on what’s best for the material. By the way, vinegar also helps with unpleasant odors! When drying, avoid direct sunlight to prevent color fading. It’s best to let the cap dry in fresh, warm air—just place it by an open window.
What can you do about pilling?
Pilling refers to those small, annoying fabric balls that form, especially on wool fabrics, due to exposed fiber ends. A lint shaver can work wonders here! For just a few euros, you can find one in most drugstores. It smooths out the protruding fibers and gives your cap a nice, clean look again.
Could the brim of my cap be damaged during cleaning?
Our caps feature a high-quality foam core in the brim, unlike other brands that use paper inserts. This foam core can easily be cleaned with water and ensures long-lasting durability and shape stability.
How can I remove unpleasant odors from my cap?
Whether after a long night out or intense physical activity, stubborn odors like cigarette or sweat smells can linger. A vinegar treatment can help: simply apply vinegar (5%) to the affected areas or, in extreme cases, soak the cap in it. Test it first on a discreet spot and let it sit a bit longer for stronger odors. Afterward, you can wash the cap as usual. For lighter smells, good ventilation often does the trick—hang the cap in the bathroom after a shower, as the steam helps neutralize odors. Be sure to dry the cap properly after washing to prevent musty smells.
